This 8 days African wildlife safari will cover the beautiful sceneries of Uganda and a bit of Rwanda with the beautiful and clean Kigali city. You will be picked up from Kigali and transferred to Uganda though either Gatuna border post or Chanika border post depending on the gorilla tracking station, after checking in at the border, through the hills of Kigezi you will head to Ruhija/Rushaga for gorilla tracking.

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival to Kigali International Airport

On arriving at Kigali international airport, clients will be welcomed and briefed by our tour guide/driver. They will then drive to Hotel Chez Lando for dinner and overnight stay, the next morning your guide will brief you about the up coming tour to the pearl of Africa through the heart of Africa.

DAY 2

Transfer from Kigali to Uganda

After an early morning breakfast, Guests will be picked up and transferred to Uganda for their safari. Driving from Kigali to the Uganda border is 80 kilometers and normally takes 1 to 2 hours.

Passing through the land of a thousand hills, they expect to have great scenic views of the hills and the terraces on hills as they drive through to Uganda, the driver will be stopping on a few occasions for photo moments.

On a brighter day, the views of the volcanoes are likely to be seen with a stunning appearance.

On reaching at the border, the company's driver guide will assist clients through the process of clearing with the border authority which takes a few minutes to cross to Uganda.

After clearance at the border, a 3 hrs. drive will lead to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park for dinner and overnight as they prepare for the great encounter with the apes the following day.

DAY 3

Gorilla tracking in bwindi Impenetrable forest national park

After an early morning breakfast, clients will be given your packed lunch from the lodge and driven to the briefing point in the park where they will check in and have a briefing. The briefing starts at 8:30am but clients are expected to be there by 8:00am.

After briefing, clients with their ranger guide start their activity as they trek through the impenetrable forest in search of the gorillas, trekking may take 4 hours or more depending on where the gorillas last slept at night.

1 hour is given to the trackers as they take photos and learns more behaviors of the gorillas; they will then trek back to the office for their graduation ceremony and will be awarded with gorilla tracking certificates.

Check out of your lodge and drive to Lake Bunyonyi for your afternoon relaxation or an afternoon canoe or boat ride at the lake of many birds. You will check in at the lodge and then proceed for any activity that will be scheduled.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the hills of Kigezi with the best views of the foggy hills. On the way, you expect to see many attractions like the Karegyeya hanging rocks, the Kitagata hot springs, tea plantations and some crater lakes by the roadside as you proceed to the park.

You will check in at the lodge for lunch and relax in the afternoon and relax at the lodge or opt for an evening game drive.

Have dinner and overnight.

DAY 5

Game drive and boat safari on Kazinga channel

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the park for your morning game drive, you expect see a lot of wildlife such as lions, leopards, hyenas, kobs, elephants, birds, buffalos among others. The game drive normally takes 4-5 hours through the Kasenyi plains as you explore more of the second largest savannah park.

After the game drive, you will transfer to the lodge for lunch and proceed to Mweya/ kazinga channel for an afternoon boat launch. While on the boat you will have an encounter with wildlife as many animals come by the lake showers to quench their thirst. Expect to see several aquatic animals such as hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards and water birds.

After the boat rode, you will return for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6

Transfer to Kibale forest national park

After breakfast early in the morning, you will embark on your journey to Kibale forest national park (fort portal) 150 km a 2-3 hours' drive. A few kms away from the park is the equator line where you will stop for a simple experiment and photo moments.

Proceed through Kasese town with views of the Rwenzori Mountains, on arrival at kibale forest national park, check in at the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 7

Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Community Experience

After breakfast you will leave with your packed lunch and water. Your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for registration and briefing.

After briefing, you will be assigned a group with a ranger who will guide you through the tracking of chimpanzees. At this point will trek through the forest in search of the chimps where you will meet several more primates and birds in the forest.

It will take 2-5 hours to find the chimpanzees. On seeing them, you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees while taking pictures and studying their feeding and living behaviors.

After tracking you will refresh at the lodge then go for a 2-3 hours nature walk at Bigodi wetland sanctuary. Return to your lodge to refresh and spend the evening at leisure relaxing at your lodge.

Transfer to Entebbe Airport

After a morning breakfast, your driver guide will drive you to or hotel in Kampala for your last meal in the land or direct to Entebbe airport if your flight is on that day.
