Pick up from Kigali Transfer to Akagera National Park Game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Following the briefing by Musana Tours and the travel driver, we will embark on a scenic 2-hour journey to Akagera National Park, traversing through picturesque countryside adorned with stunning hills.
Upon arrival, we will engage in a morning game drive with a knowledgeable park guide. Anticipate captivating sightings of zebras, Maasai giraffes, leopards, elephants, lions, buffaloes, rhinos, and various antelopes.
Although the game drive duration will be moderate, it allows ample time to return to your hotel for lunch in preparation for the afternoon boat safari.
The boat safari on Lake Ihema promises an exceptional opportunity to observe diverse bird species, crocodiles, hippos, and land animals quenching their thirst along the shores. Keep an eye out for the majestic shoebill storks, kingfishers, fish eagles, and cormorants.
The boat excursion spans 2 to 3 hours, after which you will be chauffeured back to your hotel for relaxation, refreshments, and a delightful dinner.

Longer game drive - Transfer back to Kigali
Begin your day by arising early and savoring a delicious breakfast. The driver and park guide will assist in identifying optimal locations for mammal sightings. Brace yourself for an extended game drive.
Starting from the southern gate and spanning the entire northern section of the park, this comprehensive journey could last up to 6 hours. Key highlights include the Kilala Plains, Mutumba Hills, "Hippo Beach," expansive swamps, and the shores of Lake Ihema an area renowned for its unparalleled concentration of wildlife.
If any wildlife was missed on the first day, this extended drive provides a second chance to spot lions, buffaloes, kobs, hippos, giraffes, elephants, and various antelope species, guided by the park expert.
Akagera National Park has over 500 recorded bird species, including the lesser kestrel, papyrus gonolek, and the iconic shoebill stork.
After this immersive experience, return to the hotel for check-out before returning to Kigali.
