Our 3 Day Mgahinga gorillas will take you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in south western Uganda. Arrival and departure will be through KigaliRwanda. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is the only park in Uganda where mountain gorillas co-exist with golden monkeys. Hence the saying, that it's where “gold meets silver”.

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to Uganda through the Chanika Border. On your way, you will have good scenic views of Rwanda the land of a thousand hills as you proceed to Uganda. You will have different stopovers for photo moments.

The views of the volcanoes will enhance your trip.

Check in at the border and exit Rwanda to enter Uganda.

You will drive to your hotel for lunch, a relaxing afternoon, dinner and overnight.

DAY 2

Mountain Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast, carry your packed lunch from the lodge and drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters arriving in time for the gorilla briefing. Before briefing, your passport details will be required to make sure that you are eligible to trek mountain gorillas.

This will be followed by the briefing from one of the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers about the dos and don'ts of gorilla trekking and instructions to be followed before, during and after the trek.

You will then be led to the forest to search for the mountain gorillas . Once you find the gorilla family, you will be allowed one hour to observe and enjoy the mountain gorillas.

You will then trek back to the park headquarters for graduation and be awarded with the gorilla tracking certificate.

Drive back to the lodge for evening relaxation and the overnight night.

Day 2 accommodation

DAY 3

Transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast in the morning, you may opt to relax at the lodge until midday.

After lunch at the lodge, transfer to Kigali for your return flight.
