3 Day Double Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga and Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

This short tour takes you to two primate national parks in Uganda. The tour starts and ends from KigaliRwanda and takes you to Mgahinga gorilla national park where you will do the first tracking and then later transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park where you will do the second tracking. This gives you a better experience in two different parks and different gorilla families.

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Depending on where you will be, your guide will pick you up from Kigali airport or your hotel and drive you to Uganda through the Kigali city and beautiful scenic hills of Rwanda before you reach the border post to clear and enter Uganda.

The drive is about 3 - 4 hours where you will have lunch on the way.

After lunch you will drive to Kisoro district and head to your accommodation which is close to the park. Relaxation, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 2

Gorilla trekking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Wake early morning for your breakfast and get ready to go for gorilla trekking. Your guide will drive you to the park for briefing and then you will embark on your trek in the Mgahinga gorilla national park with your ranger guide.

The trek takes 3-7 hours depending on the distance the gorillas moved the night before. On encountering the gorillas, you will be awarded one hour with them as you take photos and interact as you observe the gorilla behaviors.

After the trek, you will go back to office for graduation and then transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Reach in the evening to check in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

DAY 3

Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kigali

After an early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to the park offices where you will have your briefing about the do's and the don'ts of before and after getting to the gorillas. You will then head to the forest to start your trek where you will again enjoy one hour with the gorillas for photo moments interaction. You will head back to the office for graduation and awarded certificates.

After tracking you will drive towards Kabale for lunch and proceed to Kigali.
