Akagera National park
Today, early in the morning, we leave Kigali at about 5 a.m. for a day trip to Akagera National Park, about 2 hours away. Akagera National Park is primarily a Savannah park. The game drive towards the northern part of the park will give you opportunities to sight elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Impalas, Waterbucks, Rhinos, the elusive leopard, and recently introduced Lions.
Arrive at the park from the southern gate to the park reception for a short briefing about the park. Most of your day will be spent in the northern sector of the park, which hosts many wildlife because of the landscape and vegetation.
