Why the Batwa tribe
One of the founding principles of Musana Tours and Travel is to support the Batwa people of southwestern Uganda. This indigenous group has faced significant challenges in adapting to the changing social dynamics. Unfortunately, a deeply rooted cultural myth has led to tragic consequences for Batwa women. Some believed in the area that HIV and back pain could be cured by engaging in sexual relations with Batwa women, resulting in horrific acts of violence, including gang rape. Over time, this has devastated Batwa women, leaving many with HIV, unwanted pregnancies, and children they are unable to care for.By traveling with Musana Tours and Travel and participating in our diverse range of activities, you are directly contributing to the support and transformation of the Batwa community. We dedicate 20 percent of the proceeds from all tours to various initiatives aimed at creating a brighter and more stable future for the Batwa people. Your participation helps provide critical resources for education, healthcare, and empowerment, giving hope to this remarkable tribe.
