Transfer to Akagera national park

After breakfast and meeting with your drive guide for a tour briefing in Kigali, we will drive to Akagera national park, the only wildlife park in the whole of Rwanda.

You will check in, have lunch, rest and later have a game drive in the evening looking for elephants, gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, lions and among others.

Head back to your lodge where you will dine and spend the night.

Transfer to Musanze in the north

Early morning, take breakfast and transfer from Akagera national park to Volcanoes national park. After arrival in Musanze, you will check in at your hotel and have lunch, rest and then you will transfer to the Ibyiwacu culture village where you will be introduced to the traditional Rwanda culture through traditional dances, poems, and dressing codes among others.

Canoeing on Twin Lake and Nature walk

After an early breakfast, you will drive to enjoy a fantastic nature walk around the lakes, bird watching, fishing and later in the evening visit the panoramic twin volcanic lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Golden monkey tracking then Lake Kivu

After breakfast, we will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. Golden monkeys have a limited number of permits per a day although you can only have one hour with them. They are very shy primates but also playful. Just like any other monkeys they play a lot on the tree branches.

We will have lunch after tracking and drive to lake Kivu for evening relaxation , dinner and overnight stay.

Kayaking on Lake Kivu

After breakfast at your hotel, you will head for a kayak on Lake Kivu that will give you a beautiful sea feel as you watch over to see local fishermen and a number of bird species at different corners of the lake and later head for lunch.

After lunch, spend the rest of the evening refreshing and enjoy the sand on the beach.

Transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast, we will drive to Kigali. We will drive through a very beautiful countryside with views of Nyungwe forest national park and a thousand hills.
